There are various kinds of neck pillows made of different materials, but it’s known that the best ones are made of memory foam. This is because memory foam adapts and molds to the shape of the neck and the head, making it the most comfortable pillow ever. It has just the right amount of softness and firmness to give the user snug support when sleeping.
I have used the ones that are made of cheap stuffing and beads before, and I don’t think there is anything special about them. They provide something for your head to lie on while on the plane or riding the train but that’s it.
On the other hand, memory foam neck pillows are often said to help those with chronic neck pain because they really offer support aside from comfort.
To test this, I got myself a Travelmate Memory Foam Neck Pillow and I have been using it for the past week or so. I didn’t go on any trips and I don’t have any upcoming ones either, but I do have some issues with my neck – I am quite prone to stiff necks.

Like I said earlier, I am prone to getting stiff necks. This is because I sleep in weird angles and positions all the time, and it gets worse when I’m traveling.
I have not been traveling, so I decided to test the Travelmate pillow at home since it would serve the same purpose no matter where I was anyway.
I don’t have serious problems with my neck aside from waking up to a stiff neck half the time. I have tried every tip in the book.
I slept with a really soft, low-height regular sleeping pillow, one that is firmer, and another that is in between. The soft pillow gave me the best results.
Now, let’s find out if the Travelmate Memory Foam Neck Pillow prevents stiff necks and discomfort from sitting up for a long time.
I started using this neck pillow almost a week ago. Whenever I would work at my computer to write, I would place it on my neck and lean back on my chair.
I would also have it on while watching TV. I almost never took it off for the duration of my “trial period” so I could see how it did, so much that my brother started to tease me about it.
But I don’t care because this neck pillow is marvelous! My neck and back no longer feel strained after sitting down for a long time. I work all day on my laptop, so getting some sort of pain and discomfort in my back or my neck after this is a common occurrence.
This ended with the Travelmate Memory Foam Pillow. I can work happily knowing that I will no longer suffer afterward. The memory foam is so soft and cozy, it’s hard not to feel like burying my head in it all the time.
I once fell asleep on it while sitting on my Nana’s rocking chair, and I felt so refreshed afterward.
The cloth cover is also easy to wash and keep clean since it’s machine washable, plus it feels so fancy with its plush material.
One thing I don’t have anything to say about though is the elastic for attachment since I haven’t been traveling. I guess I should have hooked it up on something and tossed it around to test? Wait, I can do that.
I’m back. I just held the elastic straps and wagged it around. The pillow held on well and the strap didn’t come loose, so there you go.
- Neither too soft nor too hard; firm enough for support
- Prevents neck pain and discomfort after a long time of sitting down
- The pillow feels so comfortable and cozy
- The cover looks nice and fancy
- The cover is easy to remove and machine washable
- Made of high-quality foam
- The straps work well
- I can’t think of any
The Travelmate Memory Foam Neck Pillow is an excellent travel and neck support pillow that allows me to sit and lie back comfortably, preventing pain and discomfort from uncomfortable sleeping or sitting positions.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to travel a lot or work in an office/at home sitting down for a long time.
